From October 25 to 27, the 13th Leman China Swine Conference and Swine Industry Expo was held at the Western China International Expo Center in Chengdu, Sichuan. Organized by the University of Minnesota, China Agricultural University, Shixin International Exhibition Group Co., Ltd., and Shixin Trump International Exhibition (Beijing) Co., Ltd., the event is renowned as the world’s largest swine industry conference. It remains dedicated to providing science-based solutions to the swine industry, with a strong focus on China, and has become a vital platform for Chinese swine professionals to access cutting-edge global research and industry insights. This annual event is celebrated as one of the most valuable conferences in the swine industry, consistently praised for its contributions to knowledge sharing and international collaboration.
With a focus on international collaboration, the conference welcomed over 800 clients, distributors, and agents from countries including the United States, United Kingdom, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Japan, Vietnam, and the Philippines. Leaders and professionals from key Chinese provinces such as Sichuan, Shaanxi, Hunan, Henan, Shandong, Yunnan, Hubei, Guangdong, Hebei, and Anhui also attended, fostering a robust platform for both domestic and international exchange within the swine industry.
Over three days, 117 global experts and industry veterans led over 150 topic-specific presentations across more than 30 forums and 10 additional events. Drawing in 10,107 attendees, the event featured 103 poster sessions and a 100,000-square-meter exhibition space, showcasing the full range of the swine industry supply chain to over 122,538 professional visitors.
Concurrently, the conference hosted the Leman Swine Leadership Summit, a French Swine Technology Exchange, and the Green, Low-Carbon, and High-Quality Development Forum, which explored sustainable approaches for the swine industry. In-depth discussions on manure recycling and carbon reduction underlined the industry’s commitment to environmentally-friendly practices, highlighting strategic goals for green growth.
The conference also featured the New Generation Swine Veterinarian Seminar and presentations by Morrison Science & Practice Award recipients, along with 10 pre-conference forums covering swine nutrition, reproduction, infectious disease prevention, biosecurity, management in large-scale operations, and training for swine industry talent. These sessions provided valuable insights into key aspects of swine farming, offering attendees actionable solutions to pressing challenges within the industry.
